2011 Earthquake and Tsunami

In 2011 the 4th most powerful earthquake in recorded history struck Japan, with devastating results along the Northern coast.  The resulting tsunami, with waves reaching 133 feet, and in the Sendai region traveling as far as 6 miles inland, wiped out everything in its path.  The Sendai coastline was something that I felt I needed to see to fully grasp the magnitude of the disaster.  Thankfully the Miura family lives far enough inland that they were safe, but the area in general is still trying to regain footing after the disaster.
